Champions League Final: Owen names player that could betray Liverpool before Vinicius

Former Manchester United striker, Michael Owen, has identified the particular area Real Madrid would exploit to hurt Liverpool on Saturday

Owen believes that Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti would try to expose Liverpool’s right-fullback, Trent Alexander-Arnold to allow Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior explore the wing to hurt Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Trent Alexander-Arnold likes to move forward, joining Liverpool’s attack and Owen believes this could be a source of worry for the Reds.

Vinicius has been one of the shining lights in Real Madrid’s team this season, combining well with Karim Benzema to help Los Blancos win the LaLiga and also send them to the Champions League final.

Liverpool faces Real Madrid in the final of this season’s Champions League with the Reds looking to win their 7th title while the Spanish giants are hoping for their 14th.

And Owen, who represented both Real Madrid and Liverpool during his playing days, said South America could be a ‘weapon’ in Paris.

“I think Liverpool will probably have a lot of the ball because I think Madrid will be keen to prevent spaces in behind them for the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane to run into,” the 42-year-old told Dailly Mail.

“But I also think they will want to sit deep to actually encourage Liverpool to play that high line and then try to exploit it on the counter-attack.

“When Trent Alexander-Arnold moves forward, they’ve got Vinicius that could really hurt Liverpool in that position.

“They’ll be looking at Trent going forward a lot and they’ll be thinking Vinicius is going to be a weapon.

“I think Ancelotti will try to expose that area and Vinicius will be one of their key components. I think it’s in behind and Vinicius’s pace that they might try to exploit
