Flood takes over Yobe Desert home pitch ahead of League match

Flood has reportedly taken over Yobe Desert home pitch ahead of a National League match.

The stadium pitch in Damaturu is to host the Yobe Desert FC National League match with Oyah FC Abuja, today, Saturday.

Yobe State Director of Sports and Secretary of the Club’s management Committee, Dr. Abdulrahman Ago and his officials are reportedly working hard to evacuate the water before the kick-off time.

The officials said there is no cause for alarm, while assuring that the match will be held on the pitch today as scheduled.

MKT learnt that no property was damaged, but most parts of the main bowl were flooded by the early morning rainfall.

Yobe Desert Stars FC is occupying 6th position on the 2021/2022 NNL Group A1 table, with 24 points after playing 16 matches, while Oyah FC from Abuja are at the bottom of the group’s table with just 2 points.
