Singer, Jaie, has said that her new song, Calm Down, was inspired by the forthcoming 2023 elections.
She said, “The inspiration behind the song is the forthcoming elections. I want families to listen to the song and dance together. I want ease to enter every home because I believe we are about to enter a season of great flamboyance. I want Africans and African-Americans to remember how important our culture is. We are such a happy people and I want to help people to have a good time.”
On how long she worked on the song, she said, “I had been working on this song alongside P2J, my producer, since we were in high school. I remember he had just bought a talking drum back then and he sent me a picture of it while I was in class. After school, I went to his family house. He suggested that we should make a Nigerian song. After university, I heard the song again and desired to finish it. I then booked a session with a producer called Star Squad. P2J came over to lay some vocals and re -master the beat. The rest, as they say, is history.”
Jaie also noted the she is working on her Extended Play album, Mind Phone.
