Former Poland goalkeeper, Jerzy Dudek, has named Virgil van Dijk as the only Liverpool star that will improve the current Real Madrid squad defensively.
Dudek, a former Liverpool and Real Madrid shot-stopper, said this ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League final against Real Madrid on Saturday night in Paris.
When asked by Marca which players in the Liverpool squad would be able to get into Real Madrid’s team, Dudek replied: “We could talk about Salah, who is obviously the main player but Real Madrid have a great future in that position. Rodrygo is an incredible player, just like Valverde.”
“If (Ancelotti) could only choose one player, it would probably be Van Dijk because I see that Real Madrid could improve defensively.
“They have great midfielders, wide players and forwards and a great goalkeeper, but I think they can still improve defensively.”
Dudek left Liverpool in 2007 to join Real Madrid, where he made only 12 appearances across four seasons
