Watford striker, Emmanuel Dennis, says he will come back better next season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Nigeria international was a rare bright spark for Watford in what was a difficult season last year in the English topflight division where he scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 33 league outings.
“End of a season full of ups and downs,” he tweeted. “I want to thank all the fans for always supporting me. Time to get ready and come back better.”
Despite his exploits, Watford were relegated from the EPL but the 24-year-old, signed from Club Brugge last summer, is now almost certain to depart Vicarage Road.
The Nigerian has been linked with a move to Aston Villa and West Ham.
The Hammers are looking for a striker to offer cover and competition to Michail Antonio, with Dennis valued at £20m and also capable of playing from the wings.
Dennis scored his first international goal for the Eagles from the spot in the 90th minute as they mauled Sao Tome 10-0 in Morocco in a match-day two fixture of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier last Monday.
